Description:Position Quality Manager – Midway

Position Summary

Develops and implements processes and procedures that lead to an overall improvement in quality levels.

The position reports to the Plant Manager
Duties:Primary Responsibilities

• Adheres to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.
• Utilizes a variety of problem solving tools including 8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis, etc.
• Develops and analyzes statistical data to establish quality programs and measurements to improve operational effectiveness.
• Uses Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma Methodology and other continuous improvement processes to drive improved efficiencies.
• Identifies differences between established quality standards and related user applications.
• Confers with operational leaders and engineers in developing test requirements/specifications and designing test procedures to meet quality assurance standards.
• Communicates directly with Lead Fabricators and Fabricators regarding QA methodologies and the importance of a high quality culture.
• Collects, measures, and interprets data to focus on continuous improvement efforts.
• Provides technical support to plant operations by troubleshooting and performing process capability studies.
• Performs process optimization studies and ensures formal processes are established and communicated.
• Identifies, develops, and implements projects designed to improve throughout efficiencies and product quality.
• Other duties and responsibilities may include:
o Interacting with sales force and customers (both by phone and at customer site) to resolve external quality issues.
o Conducting internal and vendor quality audits.
• Other duties as may be required.

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or other technical degree.
• 5-7 years engineering experience or quality related work experience with direct supervisory experience.
• Strategic Project Management with direct supervisory experience of peers and/or subordinates.
• Must be skilled in lean manufacturing, 6-Sigma Methodology and related Continuous Improvement processes.
• Thorough knowledge of quality assurance procedures and methods including familiarity with ISO 9000.
• Prior Quality Auditing and ASME systems experience is a plus.
• ASQ certification preferred.
• Must possess excellent computer and training skills, including MS Office Suite, Access and Project Management software.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel occasionally – domestic and international – (0-25%)
